So we got a car with a bigger boot, which is a good thing as by the time we had filled it up with all the things we might need ‘as we have the car we might as well take them’ we had to expand onto the back seat, but we set ourselves a target to leave home by 9.00 and were actually 10 minutes early!
We arrived in the Lake District around lunch time so had our picnic overlooking the lake a wonderful location.
Then onto Kendal where we went for a walk round the town and made an assent on the castle. The town is all one side of the river and the castle is the other so despite the fact we possibly took the wrong route to the top it was worth the climb. Finally back to the hotel for a rest, coffee then drink and dinner before retiring to continue our journey tomorrow.
