After breakfast we packed everything up then set off for Blenheim which is actually only a couple of hours drive away so we started off by heading south to take a further look at the coast, but after a few miles the road headed inland and we decided to turn around and start heading north. We drove to Blenheim and parked the car up and went in search of tourist information, unfortunately the rain has returned and we got rather wet walking round to it and to be honest there isn’t a lot that we haven’t already looked at. We thought about going on a wine tasting tour but decided against it as most involve driving or have shops where there will be pressure to buy wine, instead we will hope for good weather and go for a drive around the sound tomorrow. We stopped for lunch and had a really nice pie then went for a drive up to Picton. Our plan had been to drive along the back roads to get a view of the mountains, but the cloud was so low that we didn’t bother as we wouldn’t be able to see anything possibly including the road! We had a bit of a drive round Picton then came back to Blenheim to do a bit of shopping before going round to the apartment about 4pm. We had a relax and the rain finally stopped so hopefully this will hold for tomorrow and we can drive out and have great views over the sound.
