Thursday 8 February – Thursday is the new Wednesday

Today was a lot more like a Wednesday than a Thursday as although it looked busy at the bottom it was actually quite quiet on the mountain. We did a few warm up runs then went over to Avanti chair and did a few longer runs there. On the chair we spoke to a lady who was up from Telluride and she said that they had an even worse season than Vail as none of the storms have actually made it to there so they have been having quite a hard time of it. They are only here for four days but seem to be enjoying it and ski a bit like us – looking for groomed runs so you can feel like an expert skier! We stopped for a chocolate then did the runs down to the very bottom. The top has bumps but as we only had snow yesterday they were quite soft so we gave them a go and actually we quite enjoyed them so much so we actually did it again then realised that three weeks of skiing on older knees take their toll so we decided to stop for something to eat. A few runs later and we had to call it a day but we had a really good day skiing and although it was slightly overcast it was actually really nice although it did get quite warm in the afternoon. We have a little bit of snow in the forecast for tomorrow so heres hoping.
