After a leisurely breakfast we packed everything up and said goodbye to our sea side apartment, we seem to have gathered even more stuff here as it suddenly doesn’t seem to fit, but it could be that Santa, Rudolph and the Christmas tree haven’t been packed so far but as we are flying we had to find a home for them! After we checked out we drove round to the front for a final walk along the pier, we had an hour before we had to be at the airport so we walked along the jetty and watched people fishing and playing in the sea. There were a couple of girls that seemed to be training for something as they were paddling out on their surf boards, running along the sand then swimming alongside the pier after a few minutes rest they did it all again not sure what they were training for but they are obviously quite fit, we also saw a little boy that was probably only about 2 that had a surf board but didn’t seam to realise that you have to go out a bit – or possibly he had been told not to go out too far so when a wave came in, he jumped on it and basically just bottomed out and laid on the board on the sand. We walked around a bit and had an ice cream then it was time to head to the airport. This is possibly one of the smallest airports we have been to, after dropping off the car we walked up to the counter thinking that it wasn’t open yet only to find that the person manning check-in was just out the back so she appeared and took our bags off us then vanished again. We picked up something to eat then it was time to fly to Sydney. We had a great view of the beach as we left Coffs Harbour then we flew over the mountains and finally arrived at Sydney airport. We got quite a good view of the city as we flew over but unfortunately couldn’t see the opera house but that isn’t a problem as we drove in we had a great view of both the opera house and once we were in the room a stunning view of the bridge, we shouldn’t have any problem seeing the fireworks from the 13th Floor overlooking the harbour and the bridge. After being shown around by Phil we walked round to the bottle shop to pick up some bubbles for New Years even and some beers for the rest of the time then went to the supermarket to get some supplies. All of that done it was time for some laundry and a well earned beer before having something to eat and settling in to look at the stunning view.
