We had a really relaxed start to the day as we weren’t picked up until 10:00, that plus a really easy journey to terminal 5, the self checkin and fast passage through security meant that we were in the lounge by about 10:30! We had a few bits to eat and some drink then went down to board the flight. Luckily Chris was paying attention as I just headed for the nearest gate and we nearly got on the flight to India! Luckily a quick change of direction and we boarded pretty much first. Unfortunately it was quite cloudy so it wasn’t until we got to Norway that the cloud cleared and we started to get a good view of the landscape. For once the windows were relatively clean so we took a few pictures then before we knew it we had landed and we were through security and collecting our luggage. It is about a 45 minutes drive to Oslo city from the airport so we decided we would take the Airport express which only takes 20 minutes and runs very frequently. After a quick stop in tourist information to collect a city map we walked to the hotel which is about a 15 minute walk then checked into possibly the hottest room we have had for a while so we went downstairs to have a coffee, cool down and update the website before heading off out for something to drink. It seems such a shame that it is now 7pm local time and basically all we have done is get to Oslo but I am sure we will more than make up for it tomorrow when we start exploring the area.
